Health Update!

Hey Everyone! Sorry I have been slacking in the updating my blog. All of my other responsibilities have taken priority. Things are still going great! I can't believe it is almost June 1st. So strange that I have been almost at this for 6 months!

I have not been weighing every week but I did weigh last week and here are the numbers:

May 15th- 159.8

Praise the LORD I finally got out of the 160's, only took me like 3 months!

I LOVE tuna topped with avocado! So yummy:)

Chicken Enchiladas stuffed in butternut squash. Recipe is on my pinterest board. I added less cheese than it called for.

Took this picture yesterday! I am embracing the "selfie" for this journey. I want to document my progress. For real y'all, I have muscles. It is the most bizarre thing. I was talking to Matt the other night and I was like "what is this?" He is like "that is your deltoid". Huh? Who knew? :)
I am for sure not stopping now. Some other non scale victories are that I can plank straight armed for well over 2 mins and my highest hover plank is 1:49. I can do 30 REAL push ups at a time!

Oh and the best news yet. My knee has miraculously healed! I started running in my cheap new balance shoes and NO knee pain. I am trying to keep my runs short but was able to do 3 miles (around 10 min pace) the other day. It was awesome.

See you all soon!

Transformation Thursday!! 4-24

Hey Everyone!!! Its been a while since I last updated. I am sure you all thought I probably fell off the wagon but I didn't. I stuck to my no weighing for the last 6 weeks.

It was tough but overall it really just made me focus less on the scale and more on my end goal of being healthy and fit. I took Naomi running with me last weekend (still having knee trouble but its not too bad for short amounts of running) and she LOVED it. She keeps asking when we can go again. Gabby went as well but was ready to come home in 2 mins:) Naomi can't run a mile yet but is so eager to work towards that goal. I love instilling healthy habits into the kids.

I just finished T25 last week. It feels awesome to actually have completed a workout from start to finish.  Here are my progress pics.

So here are my numbers....

Jan 2nd- 182.2
Jan 9th-176.2
Jan 16th-174.4
Jan 23rd- 172.2
Jan 30th - 171.8
Feb 6th- 169.8
Feb 13th -169.8
Feb 20th 169.2
Feb 28th - 166.8
March 7th- 167.4
April 18th - 162

Total lost: 20.2 pounds

(I don't know why my background is colored but whatever!)

I won't lie, when I got on the scale my first reaction was a little bit of disappointment, but when I started to think about it, I really lost about 1 pound a week. I also measured before T25 and I lost 18 inches! Lastly almost all my clothes that fit me when I weighed 145 fit me now with the exception of one pair of jeans and two pair of size 4 shorts. I know that I must have gained a lot of muscle which meant the numbers on the scale went down a little slower, and that is ok.

I am not done yet and my goal is still around 145 but I also don't want to look sickly. As I continue I will reassess and see if my goals need to change.

Week 12??

I am losing track of what week it is:))

Since I have not been weighing in I feel there is not too much to post on. I will give you my top 5 highlights of the week!

1. I have been SO sore this week. But like a good sore. I have upped my weights in my weight routine and I can feel it for sure.

2. I put on a pair of size 6 jeans that are in my closet. They are snug but they fit!! WOO HOO:)

3. I feel so motivated this week even in spite of not weighing in.

4. Someone at ballet class for girls (who I had not seen in three weeks) tole me I was dwindling away. That was a major boost for me. I know it should not matter what others think but it just helps motivate when people can see the change.

5. Lots of awesome dinner this week. One night I had a beef burger with sautéed onions and avocado on top and a side of asparagus, corn, and red peppers. SO yummy!

Before/After (and not done yet!!)

Hey all! So it is totally against my nature to post pics of my belly showing. But since I only have about 10 readers and they are all women, I feel safe for now. If my blog goes viral I will
Probably delete them. I just didn't realize how much my body had changed! The before pics are from last summer. I really didn't start working out again til Jan 1 2014.

My face in the before photo kinda cracks me up!!

Week 11

Hey all!

I hope everyone is having a great week. Sorry I am late. I am still doing well just been SOOO busy. This past week has been such a great one for me mentally. Between a few friends reaching out and challenging me, I have decided to throw out the scale until Easter. I guess kinda what I am "giving up" for lent. No more bondage to the scale. I am working out 5-6 days a week and I even added an extra weight workout 3 days a week. I feel like I am in a really good place where exercise is concerned. I have allowed myself sweets on a few occasions and although I have still practiced self control I still like it better when I just say no. We got girl scout cookies today and I had two thin mints and that is all I am going to eat. Period. I haven't even bought a single bag of the cadbury mini eggs which are my all time favorite. I did tell myself I am going to buy myself one mini bag for Easter. But only one!

I can start to see subtle changes in my body. It is actually really encouraging and although it has certainly not happened overnight (going on 2.5 months) I actually feel good about it. I have worked so hard but it had made me imagine what will change in the next 3 more months and 3 months after that. That makes me excited. Even when I was running I wasn't doing enough strength and toning. I am excited to maybe have toned arms for once in my life. Especially before we move to Guam!!! I will not be going to boat functions on the beach with flabby arms!:))

Thank you all for being my faithful readers and holding me accountable. You all rock!

ON a completely separate not I somehow thought it was a good idea to be the FRG president for our boat. For you non military folk, just ignore:)  Well I was totally naive. I am grateful for the opportunity to be light but it is a lot of work. Pray that God can use me, that I can effectively delegate, and still manage to keep my family and faith the priority it deserves.
